Remember that what you exhibit outwardly, you are inwardly. We are the product of our own thoughts, what we believe our self to be, we shall become. Know this truth and this truth shall set you free from ignorance. Knowledge of oneself is the only key thing that set men free from darkness of misery and sorrow. The Bible puts it clearly that “My people perish because of lack of knowledge”.

To perish does not necessarily mean death or to die only; it also means experiencing a miserable, a sick, a poverty, a lacking and unexciting lifestyle. Living in poverty is perishing. Not having a sense of purpose for your life is perishing, and so is getting sick perishing too, and the reason is simple, health and abundance is our birth right. To perish means to miss the mark of love, and love is our birth right.

This is why the first liberation of mankind by the Ancient Greeks was to train an individual to ‘Know Thyself’, in English it means to ‘understand oneself inner world’. It’s also why King Solomon in the bible said ‘In everything get understanding’. Each person has a mind, but most people use their minds poorly, simply because they have never been taught how to use their mind works and how to use it constructively.

This is the problem with most people, lack of understanding of oneself; this is why most people experience miserable and unexciting lives; some may look like their doing fine physically, but deep down inside their hearts their miserable and lost souls. Most people don’t know what they want with their lives simply because they don’t know who they are.  To feel a meaningful life, one must have a sense of self life purpose that they should passionately work on as they live through this earthly, and the good thing is that everyone on this earth is born with a talent, and a talent is a passion, it is a purpose.

It’s when we begin to understand who we are, that is when we begin to become aware of who we were meant to be, do, have and share for and on this beautiful mother earth.

“The first reason for man’s inner slavery is his ignorance, and above all, his ignorance of himself. Without self-knowledge, without understanding the workings and function of his machine, man cannot be free, he cannot govern himself, and he will always remain a slave, the plaything of forces acting upon him. This is why in all ancient teachings the first demand at the beginning of the way to liberation was to know thyself” said, Mr. Gurdjeff.
