How Do You Expand Your Mind?
First of all you cannot expand your mind by doing the same thing each day that comes. Expansion is not doing the same things, but expanding forward by doing tasks differently each day that comes.
For example if you are in a grocery store business, you cannot have a single shop for a lifetime, at least you must be expanding to open up stores in different locations, for example, just look at Pick N Pay and Choppies Supermarket Stores how they have been expanding, rooting from South Africa and Botswana to Zambia and other African countries, and Zambian’s own Yalelo Fish company, its fish outlets and stores have expanded to almost every city of the country Zambia, that’s what is called business expansion or growth; and so must your mind be expanding too, and not just doing the same things each day, month and years that comes.
Learning is creative thinking, curiosity for more knowledge and the exhilaration of discovering something new that no longer exist.
If you want to continual expanding your mind, be willing to open yourself up to learning, to new adventures and ventures, and by that I mean be willing to learn something new by not fearing to make mistakes or fearing to fail; simply because learning is a process of making mistakes, finding out what you don’t know and correcting.
But the worst thing of all is avoiding to make a mistake where you know you will learn something new, have you noticed that people who avoid to make mistakes end up stupid and those who always want to be right all the time end up obsolete.
Mistakes are “learning experiences” or “taps on the shoulder” alerting us to the fact that there’s something we are missing and must further explore. All upsets, poverty, unemployment, sickness are opportunities to learn something and expand, progress our minds and our lifestyles from. Truth is “If something is worth doing at all, it’s worth doing poorly”, in other words, action, correction equals perfection.
Always recall that learning is creative thinking, curiosity for more knowledge and the exhilaration of discovering something new that no longer exist, or the idea can exist, but it must be improved upon forward.
